What is the protocol to do the Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture?
The first session is a one-hour consultation including Chinese Medicine tongue and pulse assessment. The next visits which are treatment visits, are 45-60 minutes. Depends on condition being treated an individualized massage will be done after needling to improve the lymphatic drainage and detoxifying while helping with redistribution of Qi and Blood.
It is recommended to come for the treatment without any makeup and as clean as possible. However, we have our own safe needle protocol, and we clean the area that we are needling. As I mentioned, needling will be both on face and body emphasizing more on facial points. The needles used for face are thinner than needles used on body. Anyway, the acupuncture needle is fine needle.
What is the treatment plan and when do I start seeing the results?
The ideal plan is twice a week, but it is adjustable to once a week, but not later than this. The number of sessions is at least 10-12 sessions for an optimal result. You will start noticing the improvement in 4-6 weeks after starting the Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture.
Is there any side effect for acupuncture?
Acupuncture is safe and usually does not have major side effects. The only common side effect is bruising in the site of needle that will disappear in 2-3 days. The Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture is an outpatient treatment and doesn’t have down time. So, you can get back to your activities right after the treatment.
