Digestive System Tests

Your Gut is your power house and these tests help find the cause of symptoms affecting your digestive tract, such as IBS, bacterial over-growth, prolonged diarrhea, an increased amount of gas, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, bloating, belly pain and cramping.

Gut microbial DNA analysis”

To evaluate your gut microbiota, we use “Gut microbial DNA analysis” – AKA “GI360”. It is stool test that analyses the microbial DNA present in a stool sample to evaluate the presence of micro-organisms and their status. It assesses bacteria, yeasts, viruses, pathogens, and parasites that may be contributing to your dysbiosis or chronic illness and to assess the digestive function of your large intestines. GI 360 test addresses these health conditions: Gastrointestinal Symptoms, Inflammation, Joint Pain, , Autoimmune Disease, Food Sensitivities, Chronic or Acute Diarrhea, Abdominal Pain, IBD/IBS, Nutritional Deficiencies, Bloody Stool.

GI360 tests can be done in three levels:

  • GI360 Profile is the most comprehensive test in its group and includes Comprehensive Stool Analysis, Parasitology, and DNA analysis of your gut microbiome.

  • GI360 Essentials includes the Parasitology test but not the Comprehensive Stool Analysis.

  • GI360 Microbiome only tests for the DNA composition of your microbiome. It does not include neither Comprehensive Stool Analysis nor Parasitology tests.

Irritable bowel SIBO
Hydrogen Breath Test

The SIBO test is a hydrogen breath test, a non-invasive way to diagnose common digestive issues like SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth), IBS and lactose intolerance.  The breath test evaluates your digestion of particular sugars by measuring the gas you exhale, usually hydrogen and methane. The measured gas comes from metabolism of sugar by your anaerobic gut bacteria through a process named fermentation, Glucose is used for small intestine and lactulose for lower intestine.

This test needs some preparation that the instruction comes with the kit.

Turnaround time for test results is approximately 2 weeks.

Leaky Gut  Syndrome Test

The Zonulin Profile ia a blood laboratory test and measure serum zonulin. The purpose is to evaluate intestinal permeability and leaky gut syndrome. Zonulin is a protein that opens intercellular tight junctions in the gut lining. This is the connections between epithelial cells and makes the integrity of the gastrointestinal lining. Zonulin increases intestinal permeability in your gut and is considered a biomarker for barrier permeability.

Turnaround time for test results is less than 2 weeks
